Setting Minimum Selling Price of an Item


In general DSD Assist expects the price for an item to be established by the Accounting or ERP system in the data we extract from these systems.  However, if you allow the Sales Rep or Van Salesperson to change the price in the field you may wish to set some limits on the discount they are able to offer.

In DSD Assist the pricing for an item is set at the Location level.  This allows you to set a different price in one state compared to another to reflect the freight cost between the locations.  Similarly the Minimum Sales price is set at the location level.

To set a Minimum Sales price you need to access the Product Location maintenance function in the DSD Assist Portal.  There are 2 ways you can do this

  1. Select the menu item Data Maintenance, then Product.  Select the icon on the far right of the item you wish to edit, then the Location tab.  Select the icon to the right of the Location you wish to edit and then the Price tab
  2. Select the menu item Data Maintenance, then Product Location.  You can sort this list by Location if desired.  Select the icon to the right of the Product Location you wish to edit and then the Price tab


On this Price screen the fields that allow you to set the Minimum Selling Price are Minimum Price and Maximum Discount %.  You can use either of these fields, setting one will mean that the other will be automatically calculated.
