Product trees are used in the DSD Assist applications to allow users to find products based on a hierarchy. The hierarchy can be created dynamically based upon the imported data from the ERP system, or it can be created manually. This document describes how to create and maintain a manual Product Tree in DSD Connect
- DSD Connect select Data Maintenance and then Tree
- Select Add and add a new Tree Top
- Name the tree. If the tree is to used in our mobile products check the Hand Held check box. Other fields are not required for a manually created tree. Select Save
- The tree branches can now be added
Select the down arrow button on the far right of your tree top
- To add a branch select the Product tree on the left
This will allow you to add a branch. You should select the Static Branch option as this will let you create your own descriptions for the branches
Select Add to add the branch
- Enter a description for the branch and select Save
- Repeat this process to add all the branches you need. You will end up with something that looks a little like this
- Now we can add products to the tree branches. Select a branch and then Add Product. Then select the item you wish to add to the branch. Repeat this process until you have added all the items you wish to your branches
